Canon teams with Pelyco to leverage success of i2 TradeMatrix™ InstallationThree operating units installed and operational in record time with webPUBLISH Newport News, Virginia and Silicon Valley, CA Canon Virginia Inc. and Pelyco Systems today announced that Canon has purchased and implemented webPUBLISH™. This implementation will be used to broaden the base of TradeMatrix™ (Factory Planner) users across three separate Canon operating groups providing real-time access to key planning and scheduling information. In today’s fast paced, intelligent e-business world, organizations must stay ahead of the competition both at the strategic and operational level. In order to execute on those needs, Canon selected Pelyco to help leverage their investment in TradeMatrix. With webPUBLISH, Canon will increase productivity and competitive advantage to a more distributed user community throughout the organization. Canon Virginia Inc. (CVI) is Canon's flagship domestic manufacturing operation. Located in Newport News, Virginia, CVI is the primary Canon production facility in the U.S. The 920,000 square foot facility produces copiers, laser beam printers, toners and toner cartridges. Since 1987, the first years of operation, the facility has expanded numerous times and now has more than 2,00 members. CVI’s innovation, community service and environmental efforts have been recognized numerous times by outside organizations. Its quality and environmental management systems have been ISO 9002 and 14001 certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). CVI has established three subsidiary companies: Custom Integrated Technology (CIT), which remanufactures Canon copiers, and upgrades peripheral products for major computer manufacturers; SouthTech, Inc. (STI), which produces molded and metal stamped parts; and Industrial Resource Technologies, Inc. (IRT), part of Canon's Clean Earth Campaign, recycles toner cartridges that would otherwise be landfilled. "We are delighted with the success of this implementation and the value received to date.
